I had lunch on Saturday afternoon with my dear friend, Lauren. We decided to try FISH Honolulu at SALT in Kaka’ako. I had checked out the menu on their website beforehand, but hadn’t heard much about it before going there.
Located on the 2nd floor, it was an open-air restaurant with lots of ocean inspired hues. The roof was adjusted at one point to let more light in. We were there on a particularly windy and chilly day, so it was very cool inside the restaurant. At 1:15 in the afternoon, we were seated quickly, and there were lots of open tables.
Lauren ordered the Day Boat Fish and Rice which was a bowl of crispy mahi, eggplant, snap peas, white rice, peanuts, chili mint sauce, and Thai basil. I tasted it, and the flavors were delicious.
I had the fish tacos, which were also very tasty and filling. We both enjoyed the crispy french fries which were topped with grated parmesan.
Overall, it was a bright atmosphere with a reasonably priced menu. As a pescatarian, I appreciated all the seafood options on the menu. They also had a burger and chicken sandwich, if you’re looking for other protein options.
I’d highly recommend FISH for a casual lunch or dinner in town. I’d be interested in going back and trying the Island Style Lobster Roll or Ahi Nicoise Salad. Tell me in the comments where you like to go for a casual lunch.
