Nico’s Upstairs

fullsizeoutput_1695If you’re looking for a dinner or lunch spot in Honolulu that has great harbor views and delicious seafood, check out Nico’s Upstairs. I’ve written about their casual eatery, Nico’s Pier 38 before, but if you’re looking for something a little more fancy, Nico’s Upstairs provides the ambiance, service, and air conditioning. They’ve also got live entertainment on certain nights.Β

2 orders of the Poke Table Side $18 each
French Onion Soup $13

They’ve got great appetizers like the Poke Table Side, where your server prepares the poke to your liking, adding just the right amount of salt, seasonings, limu, and onion. While my nephew enjoyed his deliciously cheesey French Onion soup.

Grilled Ahi Steak $29
Misoyaki Chilean Seabass $39

I ordered the Misoyaki Chilean Seabass, which was delicious. It tasted very much like misoyaki butterfish with bok choy and steamed white rice. My mom ordered the Grilled Ahi Steak, which came on a bed of asparagus. Everyone in our party enjoyed their entrees.

Chocolate Mousse $9
Creme Brulee $8
Cast Iron Skillet S’mores $9

Everyone enjoyed their desserts. However, I wouldn’t recommend the S’mores. It just didn’t seem to be cooked all the way through. The chocolate wasn’t melted and their was a lot of crumbled brown sugar on the bottom.

Despite the dessert, I would recommend Nico’s Upstairs for a nicer dinner, especially if you’re looking for seafood. I’ve heard that their Happy Hour is great, too. You can always find parking here, and it’s away from the hustle and bustle of other busier parts of Honolulu.
