Los Chaparros Mexican Restaurant

Super Chaparros Burrito with shrimp in green sauce, $15

Admitedly, I’m the type of person who orders my favorite, go-to menu item, whenever I’m at a familiar restaurant. At Los Chaparros Mexican Restaurant, I could probably skip looking at the menu, because I order the Super Burrito every single time. It’s a giant flour tortilla filled with rice, beans, shredded lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. You can get it with a variety of proteins or mixed veggies. However, my go-to filling is shrimp, and I like the burrito swimming in green sauce. It is gigantic! I’m usually able to eat half, and I take the other half home for another meal.

Combination Plate with 2 shredded beef enchiladas and green sauce, $16.50

My lunch date ordered a combination plate with two enchiladas. You can get a combination plate with 1, 2, or 3 items. All combos come with a choice of rice and beans, or soup or house salad. Although my date has tried more items on the menu than I have, the enchiladas are now his go-to order.

Yummy horchata and complimentary chips with fire roasted salsa

I would be crazy not to mention the housemade salsa that comes with chips, before your meal. It is a fire roasted salsa that disappears quickly, before the main meal hits the table. We usually order horchatas with our meal. They’re served in giant cups and are worth a try if you’re a horchata fan. The restaurant has several tables and is quite spacious, but it’s popular and does get busy. However, we’ve never waited longer than 15 minutes for a table.
