I’m a big fan of yogurt for breakfast. It’s quick and easy, and you can eat it plain or with as many toppings as you’d like.
I was walking the aisles of Whole Foods this past week, when I saw SO Delicious’s Coconut Milk vanilla flavored yogurt on sale. I’ve tried cashew yogurt, as I’ve been interested in finding an alternative to the traditional dairy yogurts. I wasn’t a big fan of the cashew stuff, but I thought I’d give this coconut version a shot.

I topped my bowl with Anahola Granola, chia seeds, and toasted coconut chips. I bought all of my toppings at our local Costco. I must say, it was delicious! I’ve eaten it twice, once as a dessert and once for breakfast. The coconut yogurt was much sweeter than the cashew yogurt I had before. It wasn’t as thick as traditional yogurt or Greek yogurt, but with all the toppings, it was just as filling.

I will say that this particular yogurt is 190 calories per serving (1 cup), with 6g of fat, 33 g of carbohydrates, 24 g of sugar, and less than 1 g of protein. With that much sugar, we’re talking about a dessert level yogurt. I’m going to have to investigate and see if there are other coconut yogurts with less sugar and carbohydrates.
If sugar and carbs are no problem for you, I’d recommend this yogurt. I’d also recommend it as a “once in a while” treat.
