A friend on Instagram recommended that I check out the bentos at Obento Rinka. I stopped by on a Thursday to pick up lunch. They had a ton of things to choose from and everything looked so beautifully prepared that it took me a while to make a decision. Finally, I decided on the chirashi bowl and some warabi mochi for dessert. The fish was fresh and the mochi was incredibly soft. I was pretty hungry that day and devoured every last bite!
There were refrigerated items and bentos on a table and tiered shelf. There were also soups and foods that you could purchase by the piece in a case by the cash register. There were so many things that I wanted to try that I knew I’d be back.

In fact, I went back this past Thursday and got the salmon bento and more warabi mochi. What can I say? I had to do my research! It was a yummy and satistying meal, and I really liked the bits of salmon and green onion in the rice. This time, I arrived after 1:00 pm and there were a lot less choices. I’m not sure if they restock in the late afternoon, as they don’t close until 7:00 pm. To be safe, I’d recommend going by 12:00 pm for the best selection.
If you are looking for a delicious bento, check out Obento Rinka. It is located across the street from Times Supermarket on Beretania St. You may take a little while to choose your bento, as the presentation of each bento, bowl, and side dish will have your mouth watering. There is a small seating area if you’d like to eat there, or you can take it and go. I’ll be back to try their Healthy Bento and Shokado Bento. They also had a beautiful Seafod Chirashi platter on their menu that would be great for the upcoming holiday party season.
