We had been hearing about Katsumidori for months from friends and co-workers. There were reports of large pieces of fish at an affordable price. With a 1:00 pm reservation, we finally got a chance to try it this weekend.

There were lots of delicious options on the menu, including nigiri sushi, soup, and plates of assorted sushi. I decided on the Sekiwake plate, which included pieces of tuna, squid, herring roe, negitoro, tamago (egg), ebi (shrimp), uni (sea urchin), ikura (salmon roe), and scallop. It was a delicious assortment of sushi, and as reported by friends, the pieces of fish were quite large.

My date ordered the Deluxe Tuna Nigiri and Roll assortment. He enjoyed every last bite! Definitely a recommendation for tuna lovers.

We also ordered a side of shrimp tempura, which was a great addition to all our sushi.
The interior of the restaurant was larger than we had thought. It was very clean and the service was quick and efficient.
For about $80, we got all of the pictured food plus a soft drink. It was definitely worth trying and when we go back, I think I’ll order a la carte, and try out the butter fish, tofu, one of their salads, and one of their many specialty rolls. Ok, maybe I’ll have to go back a few more times to try all those things!
Let me know in the comments where you like to go for sushi.
