Make Your Holiday Hot Chocolate Special
Looking for ways to level up your hot chocolate for the holidays? I’ve got a few suggestions to make this winter tradition special. {Find clickable affiliate links to products throughout this post.}
Different Hot Cocoa Flavors
- Be adventurous and try different hot cocoa flavors. Cinnamon, salted caramel, pumpkin spice, and peppermint were some of the ones I came across when shopping for the right mix. You can also opt for low-calorie, non-dairy, or organic varieties, too.
- Invest in marshmallows. Not just any marshmallows. Get the good stuff. Flavored ones or ones that look like snowmen or other cute wintery items. I promise this will put you in the holiday spirit.
- Speaking of marshmallows, did you know that Marshmallow Mug Toppers is a thing? I spotted these Melville Salted Caramel Marshmallow Mug Toppers at my local Costco last year. If you’re interested, here’s a link to Melville’s website. They’ve got cute ones in different shapes like Christmas trees, snowflakes, and gingerbread men, too.

- Get the cute “spoons” and stirrers that melt as you stir and add a little flavor to your hot chocolate.
- Enjoy them with your favorite holiday cookies. I bought some seasonal gingersnap cookies from Waioli Kitchen & Bake Shop, here in Hawai’i. Whether you bake your own, eat them out of a package, or support a local bakery, there is nothing better than a delicious cookie and hot chocolate.

- If you want to go totally non-traditional, you can always swap out your mug of hot chocolate for a Hot Cocoa Ice Cream Flavored Ice Cream Sandwich from Whole Foods. They’re delicious and a completely different way to enjoy hot cocoa.

- No matter how you decide to drink or eat your hot chocolate, enjoy it with your favorite Christmas movie! I recommend Elf or a Christmas Story, but I’m sure you’ve got a favorite that’ll get you in the cozy, holiday spirit.
